The Devic Nature Collection

I am constantly amazed by the images that evolve out of what is often a throw away image. In particular "Purple Mantis" an image I almost deleted and was amazed by the beautiful devic presence hidden in the shot. There are three shots in this collection that were taken with the last rays of light at King's Canyon in Australia's Northern Territory. When the film was developed I was stunned by the colours captured in that dusk light (the colour of these images have not been manipulated).

Some of these images will soon be available as greetings cards from the Online Store

Tropical Collection - Hawaii

plumeria.jpgI love Hawaii, it has the beaches, the flowers and most importantly the culture!

Whenever I visit my friend Martha we take an island hop to the big island Hawaii. A challenging place to visit with one side almost totally volcanic lava and the other green, lush and verdant. There is a fascinating legend of Kamapua'a the Pig God and his seduction of Pele and her sisters that explains the yin and yan aspect of the island. Makes great reading if you're not too prudish!

Anyway back to the flowers. On the Hilo side of the island there is a magnificent botanical gardens called the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, this privately owned garden is a floral treasure and if you are visiting Hilo I highly recommend a visit.

The images in this collection were taken at the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and the Forster Botanical Gardens in downtown Honolulu.
